Days 415-430

We are t-minus 2 days!!! I thought I would be able to blog more but I am realizing real fast that there are so many last minute little details. Then to add to it, you should also plan for those unexpected things to go wrong. From my mom's dress being altered the wrong way all together, to a family member being in an accident. We are surviving it all. I think the best thing is to remember that you cannot control everything, but it is all going to work out in the end!
Today is going to be a very busy day, with us heading back to Austin one last time to pick up my wedding dress, our gift bags for our out-of-town guests, and any other little thing we need!
Cannot believe how close it is!!! :)

Days 408 - 415

I cannot believe all the little details we still have to tie together. It has been a very busy week for us and last week was no exception. We have met with our photographer, dj, florist, ceremony site, priest, and wedding planner all within the past 7 days. I am amazed at all we have done, but also what is still left to do.
The one thing that I do keep saying again and again is that we have met some amazing people during this process. Some of our vendors have just been so gracious and fun!
17 days and counting!

Days 399 - 407

This past week was a crazy one, but I got through it. :) I had some amazing moments and some moments were I almost broke down. From having our final meeting with our wedding planner to my Bachelorette Party. It was hosted by my bridesmaid Sonya, and I was very lucky to have her creative hand in it! Not only was her house beautiful, but all the little things she did to make it unique and beautiful were amazing!! I am very blessed to have such amazing bridesmaids!! Here are a couple of pics from the weekend! 25 more days to go before the BIG DAY!!

Days 395-398

I am trying to be a better blogger and let you all in on the month before the wedding, but as I have been warned, it is getting crazy!! This week especially is packed full of wedding to-dos. From have our final meeting with our wedding planner, my bridal portraits and the one big thing I have been looking forward to for a while now, my Bachelorette Party!! I know the traditional party is going out on the town and getting drunk, but I am opting for something just a tad different. I just do not see the fun in spending tons of money on over-priced drinks, when all I want to do is spend some quality time with my girlfriends and get a little pampered. :)
Even with all the crazy moments, I keep thinking to myself I am going to marry my best friend in 1 month and 4 days!!

Days 367 -392

I can't believe how much time has flown by! We are down to the wire now, with 1 month and 1 week (or 40 days) until the BIG DAY!!
With everything left to do, the one thing that I can cross of my list is buying the wedding bands! Surprisingly this was not as easy as I thought it would bel So many choices, and not a small decision as this too will be on my hand, FOREVER!! I am not going to spoil the surprise, but here are some photos of my options and I will mention that one of these beauties ended up being the winner!

Days 348 - 366

Finals are officially done and now it is time to focus 100% on the wedding!  I started out this week by tasting cake at the Ultimate Cheesecake Bakery in San Antonio.  It was delicious and I am real excited to see how the cakes turn out!
Second thing on our list was a tasting at the Westin on the Riverwalk.  We have been working with a woman at the hotel named Eva and she is simply amazing!  The food was delicious and presented beautifully!!  I do not want to give away too many details, but I will say that I do not think our guest will be disappointed!  :)
The next thing we tasted were signature cocktail drinks, and again without giving too many details away, there will be a martini there that I absolutely LOVED!
The last thing I would like to mention is that Jennifer was there as well and did a mock up of the floral work and it was stunning!!  I cannot wait to see how it will look on the day!!

Days 345 - 347

Hello  :)  Just another little blog to tell you about one of my favorite authors, Nora Roberts, just came out with a new series called The Bride Quartet.  The first book is Vision in White and I highly recommend it to brides-to-be.  I love all her books but this one hit close to home for me since I am soon to be married.  Enjoy it ladies  :)

Days 297 - 344

I am back!  I apologize for the long absence, but I promise that once this semester is over that I will be 100% focused on wedding stuff!
Though I have been preoccupied with school and family, I have made some progress with the wedding.  One thing I have done recently is, I finally found someone to do my hair and make up!  It was a long search but I am confident that this person is going to do an amazing job!  Her name is Stephanie and she works for a company called Haute Facade.  They are based out of Dallas, but she moved to Austin recently and is hoping to open shop down here too!  She did such an amazing job at our trial run and i am looking forward to playing around with some more ideas.  I don't want to reveal too much but here is a picture of me after the trial, I took down my hair but I really loved how flawless my skin looks!!  I cannot wait for my bridal portraits!!  :)

Days 284 - 293

I cannot believe our wedding is 4 months, 2 weeks and 2 days away!!  It is hard to describe how fast time has gone by, but it sure has.  :)  I am ready to go tomorrow and place the order for our invitations.  I will also be meeting with our florist, Jennifer, to really narrow down flowers and vases!  I am so excited to see little things come together and see the whole picture slowly come into focus!

I also have another piece of exciting news, I went to re-try my dress on, and it was LOOSE on me!!  I am proud to say all my hard work in losing weight is finally paying off.  Then while browsing the store I found a dress that I just had to try for a possible second dress from the reception.  Not only did it fit perfectly, it was on sale!!!  Marked about 70% from the original price!!  This dress is beautiful and wispy.  I think it will be perfect for dancing in!  The designer is Romona Keveza, and the picture I am posting is similar to my dress but not quite like it.  :)  Hope everyone had a great weekend  :)

Plus a quick shout out to Jason, Happy Birthday!!

Day 283

This post will not be about the wedding, but it will be about what an awesome fiance I have!  As many of my friends know how much I love country music, and one of my favorite artists is Pat Green.  He just recently came out with a new album, that I must insist everyone listen to because it is an amazing album (What I'm For), and he had a signing at Waterloo Records here in Austin.  Anthony stood in a line with me, and we got to hear Pat perform  5 songs live!  Then to top it off he met with his fans to autograph and take pictures with!!  It was a great moment when I got to meet him!  I heart Pat Green  :)  Thanks to Anthony for going with me and to making another dream of mine come true  :)

Days 249 - 282

Hello dear friends.  I know I have been neglecting my blog, but I do have a really good excuse, school!  I am very determined to kick butt in my Accounting class, and so far so good  :)  I also have been neglecting some of my bridal duties.  I will say though that Tracy has been awesome and very helpful.
I do have exciting news though, my dress is in and it is absolutely gorgeous.  I am still committed to losing weight so I can look my absolute best on my wedding day.  I have read a book that rocked my world, titled, "Skinny B*tch" and let me say it really got me thinking about what I eat.  I may not become a full vegan, but I am definitely more aware of what I eat and where it comes from.  I have already given up soda, candy, and red meat.  Water has become the main thing I drink nowadays, and fruit is my new bff.  :)  I now run at least 3 times a week and have started my Yoga class.  I cannot begin to tell you how much this is a life change experience for myself, but I already know that making these changes are for the best!

Day 248

School is back in session, which means for me that my schedule is a little more tight than i am used to.  I am taking at least one class every day, but the upside of that is the fact that I am taking a modern dance class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!  I am really excited to be in this class and I cannot wait to see where this will lead  :)  Being in this class also meant that I had to go get some cool new dance clothes; it was sad to see that my high school dance clothes were a bit worn out, and I learned about different kinds of dance shoes.  The new "shoes" I will be using in this class are made by Capezio called foot Undeez and they are comfy and cute!  Hopefully this will help me lose weight and get back in touch with my passion for dancing  :)

Day 247

Today was another amazing day because I am proud to say that Anthony finally decided on what he is going to wear on our wedding day!!  Not only did he choose something fantastic to wear, he went from his first choice of a suit to picking a sophisticated tuxedo from Hugo Boss.   He looks handsome in it and I loved seeing him in it  :)  I am very excited for him and cannot wait to see him in it on our wedding day!!  Now to choosing the shirt, possible tie, and shoes  :)
Thank goodness for suits that make our men look delicious.  ;)

Days 244 - 246

Today is a day I am proud to be an American and see history in the making.  It was an amazing sight to see thousands of people standing in the cold weather just to possibly get a glimpse or to be a part of this historic day.  It would of been amazing to have been there in Washington D. C., but just to be alive to see our first African-American President take office was amazing in itself.  Congratulations to President Barack Obama for bringing change and I wish him the best these next 4 years!

Days 230 -243

I was excited to see the new movie, "Bride Wars" starring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway.  My amazing Matron of Honor, Susan, invited me to go see this charming movie and I am glad we did!  It was fun and full of humor.  :)  I don't want to give away too much of the movie, but I must say I am very blessed with amazing bridesmaids!!
I recommend this movie to all brides-to-be!!

Days 227 - 229

Hello dear friends.  I just wanted to share with you all a short blog about our Holiday travels.  As I mentioned in the previous entry that we were in NYC for about 6 days and it was a magical time!  It snowed there and we witnessed their first big snow fall for NYC in 2008!  We also stayed at the wonderful "W Times Square" and saw the "Nutcracker" at Lincoln Center.  I must say it was the best Christmas present ever and I recommend everyone should experience New York City at Christmas time.  :)

Days 198 - 226

Happy New Year to all my dear friends.  :)  I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and that we all rang in the New Year surrounded by those we love.  This past month has been a very BUSY.  From finals to getting ready to go to NYC, to going to San Antonio for the holidays to be with family, it was a crazy couple of weeks but it is finally good to be home in Austin!
I do have some exciting news for my dear friends about the wedding.  I know I had been mentioning some big news and here it is:  we have a new wedding planner!!  Her name is Tracy French of the The French Connection.  We are very excited to have her join us to prepare for the wedding, which by the way is 7 months to go!  I cannot believe how lucky we are to have her on our side to be the voice to make sure our day goes as smooth as possible.  In case you have never have heard of her, she is on the show, "Whose Wedding Is It Anyways?".
Therefore with the New Year of 2009 upon us, we are excited for this new change and to be married this year  :)
